Job Description – Sr. Network engineer – L2 & L3 (Routing and Switching)
Role: Network and Security (Lead Infrastructure Specialist)
Location: Lower Parel, Mumbai.
Total Experience – 6-10 Years
CTC – 16-18 Lacs
A. Overall Responsibilities:
- Work as a Team Lead for Network and Security operations.
- Network L3 – Routing (BGP, OSPF) and Switching
- Security Firewall L3 – Palo Alto, Checkpoint, FortiGate Firewall, Forti analyser, DDOS and WAF.
- Design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security issues in real-time.
- Primarily to Manage and support Data Center.
- Configure and manage enterprise firewalls, IDS/IPS, and other security devices.
- Evaluate and implement network and security best practices, policies, and technologies to ensure compliance.
- Perform risk assessments, vulnerability scanning, and remediation to enhance network security posture.
- Troubleshooting and resolution of incidents, working on critical SLA’s by communicating with OEM Support center, TAC etc. for effective closure and RCA of all incidents.
- Maintain documentation of configurations, processes, and security incidents.
- Should have a sound knowledge on ITIL process – Operation Management, Change Management, Incident/Problem Management.
- Provide root cause analysis of outages.
- Fault handling and escalation (identifying and responding to faults on security devices.
- Liaising with 3rd party suppliers, vendors handling escalation through to resolution.
B. Required Skills
- Minimum 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience working in Network and Security Operations.
- Experience with firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Checkpoint), IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Experience with network (e.g., Cisco or Juniper or Extreme Networks.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.)
- Strong understanding of security protocols, risk management, and incident handling.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
C. Education / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in any stream, Information Technology, BE or related field.
D. Certifications desired:
Network — CCNP or equivalent certification.
Security – relevant firewall security certification.
