| Job Description: Assistant Manager Educational Qualification Essential: BE / BSc IT/ BTech Desirable: B.E., B. Tech, BSc. Tech, MCA, or equivalent Business/ Technical Skills Sets Essential: Wintel Desirable: Linux Job Profile Installation, Configuration, Administration and Upgrade Windows & Unix. (All Windows version, & Ubuntu, CentOS & RHEL operating system ) & Backup Experience with Windows/ VMware / Linux servers in virtualized environments SUSE KVM, RHEL KVM and Open sources hypervisor Experience with Scripting Knowledge of SAN Storage technology ITIL Process experience Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure services, settings, directories etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. Install and configure systems which support infrastructure and/or R&D activities. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. Identify approaches that leverage resources. Install and maintain security patches on the operational and development system, which includes but is not limited to, Red Hat Linux and Microsoft windows Investigate and troubleshoot issues on L2 Level. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted stakeholders. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary. Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational needs. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required. Basic knowledge Storage, AIX, VMs, Networking will be an added advantage. Have good knowledge on Automation. Should have strong follow-ups with Vendors for issues and resolutions Self-Motivated and able to take initiatives for improvements Have good Oral and written communication skills Should be able to co-ordinate with different stakeholders and perform tasks in hand effectively and efficiently. Develop and maintain cooperative and collaborative relationships with networking, storage, software development, and project management teams Windows / VMware Certification will be an added advantage Flexible for working in shift and on call support in case of production issue. |
