Job Location: Pune

Job Overview: Orchestrating and managing the transition planning processes within the pre-sales phase, ensuring that proposed solutions are realistic, achievable, and smoothly transitioned into operational stages; ensure that transition plans are integrated into proposals effectively and align with project goals and client expectations.

The Transition Manager is responsible for ensuring a smooth transition of IT solutions proposed in RFPs into operational environments. This role involves working closely with solution architects, bid teams, and service delivery teams to create a well-defined transition strategy for proposed  IT solution/services.

Responsibilities:

  • Proposal Development Support:
    • Collaborate with pre-sales and proposal teams to develop detailed and comprehensive transition plans for inclusion in commercial proposals.
    • Ensure that transition plans are tailored to client requirements, addressing both technical and operational aspects.
  • Transition Plan Creation:
    • Develop robust transition plans that outline the steps required to move from the current state to the desired state, including timelines, resource allocation, and key milestones.
    • Ensure plans include clear methodologies for handling transition phases, particularly focusing on complex environments such as cloud infrastructure and on-premise to cloud migrations.
  • Pre-Sales Transition Planning:
    • Create detailed transition strategies and plans for proposed projects, including resource needs, budget considerations, and critical path analysis.
    • Ensure that transition plans are practical, feasible, and align with the overall project scope and client expectations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Engage with internal teams, potential clients, and external partners to gather transition requirements and expectations.
    • Present and articulate transition plans to stakeholders, ensuring their alignment and support.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Prepare comprehensive transition documentation for inclusion in proposals, detailing plans, schedules, and risk management strategies.
    • Provide regular updates and reports on the status of transition planning activities during the pre-sales phase.
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their transition needs and expectations, particularly around cloud services and migration.
    • Address client questions and concerns related to transition plans during the proposal phase.
  • RFP Contribution:
    • Provide support to project teams in the initial stages of transition implementation if the project is awarded, ensuring smooth handovers.
    • Ensure that transition plans are effectively communicated and understood by project delivery teams. Contribute to RFP responses by defining transition methodologies, timelines, and resource requirements.
    • Provide input on IT service transition strategies and risk mitigation plans.
    • Support solution architects and pre-sales teams in crafting effective transition models aligned with client needs.
    • Define the transition approach, methodology, and governance for the proposed IT solution.
    • Develop the transition plan, including timelines, risk assessment, and resource allocation.
    • Create service onboarding and knowledge transfer strategies for a seamless handover to operations.
    • Outline key change, release, and deployment processes in line with ITIL best practices.
    • Assist in defining SLAs and early-life support (ELS) modelsfor go-live stabilization.
  • End-of-Cycle Transition Planning:
    • Develop detailed transition plans for transferring services and responsibilities from the incumbent service provider to new  project team.
    • Ensure that transition plans include all necessary activities, timelines, and resource allocations.
    • Establish governance frameworks, reporting structures, and escalation mechanisms for transition phases.
    • Develop comprehensive transition plans covering scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies

Qualifications:

  • Mandatory:
    • Certifications such as Certified Transition Manager/CASM/PMP, APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals).
    • B.E. / B. Tech / M. Tech / MCA) Degrees shall be from reputed institutes.
    • Experience:8+ years in IT service transition, release management, or implementation projects.
    • Technical Expertise:Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), DevOps, Kubernetes, ITIL frameworks.
    • Ability to draft transition workflows, SOPs, and runbooks.
    • 10+ years of experience in IT projects for Govt. clients
